After a couple of fake Lasers leaks, here’s one that’s really going to appear on Lupe’s upcoming album as it was even confirmed by himself via his twitter. The fake leaks were done awhile ago and unreleased possibly for a reason as this one sounds much more polished and smoother all around.
As it made the headlines of every news channels for the past weeks, I think we all know Haiti was hit by devastating earthquakes by now, triggering a global world aid effort as everyone seems to try and pitch in for the cause. Music artists are no different as the United Nations Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and Dave Matthews (and his band) teamed up together to put up a collaboration album with other artists entitled Music For Relief for the whole natural disaster which features this song of Lupe Fiasco featuring Kenna.
You can find the full album here and donate a little something-something if you guys are up for it.
Alright so, this leaked a month ago or so, I’m not really sure if I posted it or not, but it was officially released yesterday. The track is rather smooth being carried by a Neptunes beat, I have to say that I actually find it a bit generic, but Neptunes generic is still miles ahead of most of everyone else as the execution is still flawless and while it might sound generic, the whole thing is covered by Lupe Fiasco as he does what Lupe does best and flows gracefully from end to end of this track.
This Lupe song was first heard as a bonus track that came out with the release of Lupe’s last album, The Cool, in Japan. The song was slightly different though, as this track is an alternative take of it by having Trey Songz hop on the chorus … and that’s pretty much it.
This song was leaked 2 months ago, while the whole Twilight hype was still building up. I believe this is the first video footage that we actually see Japanese Cartoon in living flesh, but we also see footage of the movie which in turn, does not really interest me at all.
“Solar Midnite is my first commercial release that I actually produced as well as wrote. The New Moon team asked me if I could do a song specifically for the film. They invited me to an early screening of the unfinished film from which I pulled different elements that I thought would translate into a great song. I pulled in vocalist and bassist Graham Burris and acclaimed musician Matt Nelson to help fill it out my vision musically and “voila” Solar Midnite was born. The song basically deals with the chaotic love story that takes place between the characters. It’s more on the rock side of my musical catalog and comes straight from my die hard fanhood of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Anthony Keidis, one of my FAVORITE RAPPERS.”
Yeaaaah, so Chris Brown has a song entitled Girlfriend, kind of odd if take in mind the whole Rihanna debacle, but okay whatever. At least the song has Lupe Fiasco on it.
Lupe Fiasco released a spanking new mixtape entitled, Enemy of The State: A Love Story. It features a ‘cassette style’ as the content of the tape is basically 11 songs mashed up together in a twenty-two minutes single track. It might be short, but it’s a twenty-two minutes well spent. You’ll also find a split up version of the mixtape as well as it might be more useful if you want to hear a particular track. Lupe is also set to drop another mixtape entitled Friend of The People, just in time for Christmas.
01 Intro 02 The National Anthem (Radiohead) 03 All The Way Turnt Up (Travis Porter) 04 Fireman (Lil Wayne) 05 Interlude 06 Angels (rmx) (Dirty Money) 07 So Ghetto (Jay-Z) 08 Say Something (Timabaland) 09 Thank You (Jay-Z) 10 The One (Slaughterhouse) 11 Popular Demand (Clipse)
Diddy’s new group, Dirty Money gets the Lupe Fiasco treatment as he hops on the song while Diddy is probably still too busy writting in upper cases and telling you that ‘you CAN do it too’ on his almost Ashton Kutcher-famous twitter account. Lupe’s is apparently dropping a spanking new mixtape this thursday entitled Enemy of The State: A Love Story.
If not being on the MTV hottest MC list can make Lupe drop the hottest stuff around, then I’m all up for it. He’s really keeping his word on burning the scene, after dropping Fire, All Turnt Up and now he goes over Timbo recently released track Say Something featuring Drake.
Lupe goes over Travis Porter / Roscoe Dash beat, All The Way Turnt Up and he kills it. Lupe was definitely not kidding around when he said that he’d be killing it as of now 24/7, because this is straight murder.
